Default canon XL2 and 24fps

Ok possibly I´m also suffering from an early onset of alzheimers but please help if you can....

Considering one of the big things that was raved about with the Canon XL2 was the ability to shoot in 24fps why has my English, Pal XL2 only got 25fps and 50i where is my 24fps (or am I supposed to make do with 25fps and squeeze my eyes 1/2 shut?). Thanks
lacaro

NTSC comes in two "flavas": 23.97 and 29.97fps (or there abouts). This is where the 24p comes from. For us PAL people, we have 25p from our 25fps standard.
