Greetings to all on the board. I have just registered and would be grateful for any help you can offer

Can anyone advice how I can transfer video from camera to pc. I just went out and bought an S video - S Video lead to transfer to a laptop but the connection wasn't recognised (I was using Windows own video media suite to transfer the video).

Came to a new pc but no S Video slot, just USB connections and I can't seem to find leads that do S Video to USB.

Anybody have any ideas and suggest a decent, free, editing suite that will help convert to transfer to DVD?
