I've never used Lexar cards before, they are not a name you would think of right away but I must do a bit of searching around to see what type of reviews they are getting. Wow, £47 at Amazon for a 16GB card, half the price of the one at Jessops. It's a case of shop around and find the best price.

Hi all,

I tried to reply before but because i put hyper links into my references they don't appear to have been posted so i will try without.

Lexar - I have some for my Canon SLR EOS400D and they work well. I have just puchased the Lexar SDHC card from currys for £19.99. I have given it a very quick go and it (at a first use) handles recording well. I reviewed the footage on my HD TV and the picture was lovely, sharpe bright colours, handlers panning well.

Sandisk - I have on order an 8GB video SDHC on order from mymemory.co.uk costing £26.29 (30% off). Ordered on Monday before going to work. Receive text message later that day saying it had been dispatched.

Another card I was looking at was the Panasonic 8GB SDHC card which is a class 10 costing £34.99 (same website - mymemory.co.uk)

Reading the Canon website they seem to have tested Toshiba, Panasonic and Sandisk with the HF200 model.

On a different note anyone adivse of a decent (affordable) HMDI cable for the HF200. The ones I have found cost between £45 - £65 !!!

Cheers Ally.

By the way, when using the Lexar SDHC card the Canon shows 44 minutes of recording time when shooting in 'MXP' mode.

So your Lexar must be an 8Gb then? My 16Gb Sandisk shows 1 hour 28 mins available at top (MXP) quality.

That would explain the huge difference in price.

So Ally. How are you getting on with this camcorder?

Pros? Cons?

I'm thinking of one myself, only a few minor things are putting me off.

Would appreciate your views.

Thanks.
