Default Buying advice

Well I am about to give up on my Sony 105e (see my last post) http://www.videoforums.co.uk/general...-105-help.html

I just cant do anything with the files I have tried to convert them but still got nowhere fast!!!!

I want something that i can do a bit of editing with before I burn to dvd for passing round the family or just watch on pc, I am a photographer so want to play a bit more then just point and shoot.

So lets say I have £150.00 to spend (credit crunch) just want to shoot home movies and holidays then paly with them on the pc, add titles edit bit etc what should I go for. and what can I expect for that sort of cash.

Thanks
Steve

I am sure the probs with the DVD can be overcome but am alternative is to get a DV tape camera.

This is slightly better for picture quality and easier to edit.

You play the video into the pc via f wire.

What editor are you using. Normally it is just a case of finalizing the disc in the camera ( v important ) and then using an import facility in the editor.

Dragging and dropping wont work in all editors.

Sometimes you may need to copy the files to a hard drive folder.
