Panasonic Sdr Sw-20 editing clips

I bought the Panasonic Sdr Sw-20 camcoder and now I have noticed that I can't edit the clips with Sony Vegas 8, they are mpeg and for Vegas it's unknown. So, I'm asking if anybody could help me what to do with the clips so I could edit them with Vegas or Movie Maker.
