Default Canon 750i minidv camera just gone 'blank' in record mode

In camera mode there is no picture visible through the lens.[ its like i have left on the lens cover]
In record mode it records sound but no picture.

In playback mode , plays back picture in both lcd and viewfinder as well as sound.

Any thoughts/ ideas on cost of repair, known issues etc?
Thanks

Default Canon Camcorder MV750i

Unit does not display in record mode either with screen closed for eye piece vision or screen vision fully open.

This applies to either when record or pause are envoked.

In a playback mode displays show a blue screen in an unrecorded area of a tape and changes to a dark grey screen when it reaches a recorded section same as what the display showed whilst recording.

Pre-recorded tapes can be played back with no problems.

I have seen the following posted 30-05-2008 or there abouts which seems to be the same issue ???? Please advise

Default Re Faulty MV 750i

Many thanks for info

By chance I have since discovered the same info from a well meaning School Teacher published back in 2006

It is nice to have your confirm of Canon still prepared to put things rite in 2008

Default Re MV 750i repair FOC

Did you have to send direct to Canon or through an Agent

Any Info would be much appreciated

Hi there

I think I'm having the same problems you described. Did you manage to get it sorted?

I've been looking on the Canon website and am struggling to find a contact, could you tell me how you arranged the repairs???

Thanks
Julia
