microphone for Sony DCR-HC37

Hello,
I have just joined the forum and have a question I hope you can help to answer.
I am using a Sony DCR-HC37 but the microphone is built-in and its quality is pretty poor.
It is not possible to connect a traditional microphone; has anybody tried with a USB microphone, or has any idea of what microphone I can connect ? The video camera comes with a mini-USB plug.
