yes. using the memory stick is easier and quicker than using the dvds.

if i could choose all over again i would buy a harddrive camcorder. you get more memory and it seams that it would be quicker.

i have dvds for extra video but i will only use it if i take it on holiday.

hope this helps.

Hi to all, I know this thread might be a bit old, but I think it would be better than opening a new one, I have the same camcorder a Sony DCR-DVD110E, I am using a Sony memory stick pro duo (8GB) to record my movies, however before it starts recording or whenever it starts to access the memory card, I get a warning 'This storage media might not play or display your recordings correctly' , followed by three beeps, then I am able to record without any problems, however I always get this warning whenever I am about to record or access the memory card.

Does anybody get this warning?

Thanks for your help!

Hi there SN666, the problem was due to a fake Sony memory stick, I had bought one from EBAY, it came in a sony packaging & everything including instructions and a converter to SD, however it was fake

I was given a website where they sold original SONY memory sticks, surely enough no more beeps when i stick it in the camcorder.

The warning the camcorder gives you is because the fake memory sticks do not support magicgate therefore there could be problems whilst you record directly onto the memory stick, such us video corruption and so on, so watch out if you are going to record important things on the card which is giving you these problems.

Thanks for the reply.
I bought from EBAY too.
It too was magicgate.

I guess the lesson is to buy from a more reputable site.
