HDV only for HDTV?

We use a Panasonic AG-DVX100A but my boss wants to switch to "Hi Def". Lets say we make a video using a Hi Def cam, would you only be able to tell the difference on a HDTV? Thanks

What do you mean by 'Hi Def cam'? Theoretically, yes. Assuming you use, for example, an HDV camera of equal quality in terms of optics, you would tell the difference on an HDTV using an HDTV delivery medium such as video encoded to blu ray disc.
