Canon XM1

I've found a canon XM1 on eBay for £300, and I was wondering if this was a good price/good first camera.

I've checked out the reviews, and it all looks pretty good, just wondering if anyone here has used it before?

And also on review was for the Canon DM XM1 - is this the same camera?
