Default HDV conversion

Hi all,

Trying to work out the best way to convert video from editing and need to draw on experience.

I am shooting with a Sony FX1 and currently using P Pro 1.5.2 (soon to be upgrading to P Pro CS3)

Currently, I shoot in Hi Def and down convert it using the camera when importing the footage in to Premiere Pro.

My question is, will I get a better quality if i record in standart DV quality on the camera, or edit in HD and let the software to the conversion once I've editied the footage?

Stef
