| |  Newbie looking for advice
Hello All,
I am new to this forum and new to videography as well. I am looking for a great camera in the miniDV format (for editing purposes) and also the best editing software. I have looked at many small cameras as well as the Canon XL 1 and 2. I would like to go beyond simple home movies eventually. Any info or advice would be appreciated. Thanks to everyone in advance.

I like the DVX100b for the 24p mode as well as other features. As for software I like Sony Vegas. Heres the rub, People are going to recomend what they like and use so you'll never get an unbias opion. So I would recomend looking at diffrent camaras and try them out if you can, also try the diffrent trials of the software Sony, Adobe ect. good luck and welcome to the forum!!
