Default External monitors

Good morning folks, do any of the users here ever hook up monitors when filming? I know I use a 15” LCD TV screen when shooting indoors, but I’m about to embark on some exterior locations and would still like to have my ‘group huddle’ around the monitor for setting up the shot.

I’m looking at using a battery powered portable DVD player for this, using the video out on my XL2 to the video in on the DVD machine.

Does anyone use a similar set up? Can anyone recommend an alternative way of doing this, or perhaps if they do the same; what DVD player do you use/recommend.

Many thanks in advance.
