Default Analog Cameras and Mac Software

I am just getting started in video editing. Is there any way I can use a non-digital camera but still tranfer tape to a computer for editing. And is there a Windows XP Editing software that is as good as Final Cut Pro for Macintosh? Thanks for the help

Well, I'm going to say AVID express would most definitely match up with Fianl Cut, and Premiere being somewhere a little under it. And yes, you could capture video onto your computer without it being DV. youll just need to find the same cable youd plug from your camera to your TV or VCR to watch the movies. Then go out and buy an analogue capture card and youre ready to go. And also, i would capture with VirtualDub (free)

marc, you have all the links. give him a link to the product he should look at?
