Default Silly Question from a complete newbie

I must state at the outset of this post that I am a complete novice .
I have recently bought an inexpensive Digital Video Camcorder simply to record my first Grandson as he grows up.
I have been reasonably pleased with my first attempts except for the colour which is totally flat and lacks saturation.
My question is this, and this will show you how little I know.
Is this lack of colour due to the camera or is it my choice of tape.
My camera is a Samsung VP-D361 and I have been using JVC tape.
I would be pleased to receive any advice.
Regards
Joe

Many cmareas can look a bit washed out. It is very unlikely to be your camera / tapes causing this.

Tapes make NO difference to picture quality.

The look of the clips can be tweaked and the colours made more vivid in most editing programs.

Are all of your videos flat and lacking saturation or do you just notice this more when shooting outdoors or shooting indoors or in poor lighting?

Hello Nikosony
The poor colour is evident indoors and out
