GazJ83 is on a distinguished road
Default 4:3 & 16:9

Hi again,

I'm looking at getting myself an upgraded camera, probably something like a DSR250 or so.

My XL1 is of no use to me as it doesn't offer "true" anamorphic 16:9. My question is - when watching TV, are most programmes and commercials shot in 4:3 or 16:9?

Most of the DSR's offer "widescreen mode" but am under the belief that it works in the same way as the XL1. You can buy the anamorphic 16:9 adapters but you can't use the wide angle adapter in tandem.

I suppose this all comes down to one of my earlier questions - which is the best camera to buy which isn't overly expensive yet offers 16:9 (anamorphic) filming, excellent quality and is good to work with? (see previous post with camera suggestions)
