I've heard that some Sony PAL cameras can play back NTSC tapes. Sony's UK helpline were unable to be very helpful about this, the guy just didn't seem to have any idea what I was talking about. Panasonic, much more professional on the phone, firmly told me none of their consumer cameras can do this.

Does anyone out there actually know of a consumer PAL miniDV camera that CAN play back previously recorded NTSC miniDV tapes?
