I have the Sony DCR-HC14, at 1st i thought what i have i just splashed out all this money on this piece of junk for :(.. but after some reaserch i learnt that USB is no good for video captute so i went and got my self a firewire cable now the quality is damn good.. dont be expecting hollywood dvd clear quality, but the pictute is still nice and crisp for a cheeper end camra.

I dont think you will be disapointed... unless you view usb transfers before you know the facts now i am very happy with my camera i think u can expect good quality with a firewire cable..

*oh one more thing only install the driver for the camera.. the sony software is disapointing*

Are you talking about movieshaker? You'd be surprised how popular that is! I was trying to find a copy a few months ago to capture som microMV footage - gave up in the end!

Doesn't "sound" like the most sophisticated package
