    Exclamation Converting CPI files to AVI or MPEG.....

    I'm a new user who just purchased a Panasonic HDC-SD1 Camcorder to start shooting my summer project. It is a Hi-Def camcorder that shoots in AVCHD and the only software that accompanied it is HD Writer, which does not edit or convert files (also... doesn't work with Vista either ).

    I've inquired from my TECh buddies and they are all stomped and their only advice is to burn the files to a DVD and then extract them. Hopefully, I can get from real feedback from this forum as I'm now regretting my impulsiveness in purchasing said camcorder....I hate being my own Monday morning QB.

    PS: I have access to FCpro at work and I'm acquiring Adobe Premier at home soon. Right now, I am limited to WMMaker on my Home pC.

    You may have to be patient whilst video editing software developers produce solutions for what is a very new video format.

    In the meantime:
