I recently filmed an important event and when I looked at the footage there was pixilation down the left hand side of picture and no audio. I ran a tape head cleaner through my camcorder (canon xm1) a few times and it helped the picture and there was sound on 1 of the 2 tapes. Can anyone help me with a way to recover the audio from the other tape please.
The danger is that if the tape heads were dirty at the time of recording then the audio might not have been captured at all. You will not be able to recover what isn't there.
Do you have access to another miniDV camera to see if it is a playback issue?
Thanks for your post Bert. I have tried the tape in my other mini dv camcorder and a lot of the time there is only a pale blue screen and no picture or audio. At least with my Canon there is a picture.
