but is possiable to get a good quality camera to record a sporting event (pool) for a crazy cheap price around £200?

i currently use a 3-4 year old JVC whihc does the job but doesnt look professianl

Sure, you can get a nice digital camcorder for that money, but it won't look professional either.

True - but also much of the pro look comes from shooting skill, not just the camera.
