Default Help with Sony HC35

When i view my recordings in the play/edit option the screen on the cam has grey vertical lines accross it. i know this tape recorded ok as have seen it play fine before. this problem occurs on all play back now new recordings and old. Has anyone got any ideas how to resolve this problem?

Try using a cleaning tape and let it run for a few sec
