Default Samsung VPD 361 vs JVC GR D340

Samsung VPD 361 vs JVC GR D340

I am looking to buy an ultra budget Mini DV camcorder. My budget is £150 meaning my choice is these 2 beauties.
Could anyone suggest which is the better of these 2?

Many thanks

reverendsl

Angry Gr-d340 vs vista

hi
Just a word of warning regarding the JVC GR-D340.
I bought one of these 16 months ago and it works great. I also bought a dell computer in January with the VISTA operating system and the problems started there. I cannot get Vista to recognise the camera even after consulting JVC and DELL. My camera is useless.
It may be safer to check this out before buying. It works fine with Windows XP

Cheers Listman22

I haven't tried a JVC with Vista yet but I had no problems changing over from XP to Vista and all my cams, Panasonics and Sony's work fine with it. How did you connect your JVC to your computer, was it with Firewire or USB? Did Vista not recognise it straight away? If it was using Firewire is the IEEE 1394 Bus Host Controller installed and working properly on your computer? If you used USB did you have to install any software before it could be picked up, some companies make you do strange things before you can get your camcorder to work with a computer OS.
