Default Using DV in on a Panasonic NV-GS33

Hello everyone ... this is my first post here.

I've owned a Panasonic NV-GS33 for over 2 years now .... up until now I've been lazy and just played the unedited tape straight through to the TV

But in the last month or 2 I've acquired a DVD writer on the PC and firewire cable & card.

So I'm now into the "real stuff" ... I've many questions and have experienced many brick-walls already....(so I'll be posting at least a few messages round about in the next few days !)

For a start - the camcorder has DV-in capability ... I understand this to mean
I can download to the PC, AND .... record back from the PC to the camcorder.

Problem is.... I've searched through the manual and can't see how exactly
I'm supposed to record back to the camcorder !

I assume I have the firewaire cable connected PC to camcorder ... I assume the recording function is used to record 'something' back to the camcorder ... but
am I supposed to set something on the camcorder menu to activate this ....
and should I run the video file (say an .avi file) on the PC through windows media player to provide the "input" material ?

Any info or pointers to Panasonic GS33 related info grateful accepted

Fire up a video editor and that will allow writing to the cam and much much more, welcome to the world !

XP has a free video editor built in.
