Default Camcorder Advice Please

I am looking for a camcorder for around 250-300 GBP. I have looked around for ages know, can anyone suggest any? one preferable with night mode. and does the ccds really make that much of a difference? prob go for a mini dv as they seem to be better! Really struggling to find one

Yes, definitely go for Mini DV as picture quality on these cams outstrips the other formats in SD recording anyway. Are you looking for a 3CCD cam? I don' think it will be possible to get one for 300 pounds sterling, instead get a good lens, Firewire in and out, external microphone socket and tape head cleaner, Mini DV tape rewinder and a good carrying bag.
