1) Use good media. DVD+R is better than DVD-R. Better error correction and servo tracking signal. Taiyo Yuden has the best reputation, but is often counterfeited, so research the supplier. Use only a trustworthy retailer, not a bargain basement operation.
2) Burn at no more than half the maximum speed. If you have a x16 burner and x16 DVD+R media, set Nero's burn speed to x8 or less. The lower speed allows much better laser power control and much lower DVD rotational vibration, which helps your DVD player's electronics read the signal.
