Default 1 hour of video - 10.3GB- help!

Hi, I,m fairly new to this game and I,ve been using movie maker 2 to edit one or two home movies. I,ve just looked at the properties of my xmas video and its 10.3 GB in size, although its only 53 minutes long.

How can I squeeze this down to put it onto a DVD?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Jaz

First off, windows movie maker won't produce the necesary files for creating a DVD to play in a standalone DVD player. If you want to do this, you'll need to use a 3rd party application such as Ulead DVD MovieFactory.

Oh dear! What type of files do I need to create in order to save my finished project to DVD? I thought I would be using .avi files.

My PC spec is as follows:-

    Atlon 2500XP
    160GB SATA drive
    FX 5900 graphics
    1024gb PC2700 memory
    LG GSA 4040B DVD writer

    Many thanks, Jeff

Try having a look at this first. It might help you get an oversight of what is needed.
    Good luck.
