Hi Jimmy, I just downloaded a file from a Canon 7D camera and tried them on the Corel Video Studio Pro X3 and found that if I gave it time to generate the proxy files it handled the video well, it's just that the file I downloaded was 45mbps where mine of my Canon HF10 are 18mbps.

So it's like you say it wont scrub from the time line in it's native bit rate but if you get a program that has proxy file editing and set up the proxy files to something your computer is happy with you will have no problems scrubbing, just a slow render when you out put your final video which will be from your original mov files and not the proxy files.
