I bought a Panasonic AG-HMC41E camcorder a while back, and I had terrible stress and trouble trying to get my Mac to recognise the .MTS files that my HD camera produces!
Some good people on here helped me out, and I ended up with a workaround. In order to ‘give something back’ I thought I would share that with y’all.
The first software I downloaded, iSkysoft Video Converter wasn’t that great, but I took the plunge again and downloaded ClipWrap, which seems to have done the trick.
It converts the files from .MTS to mp4, which I can then bring into iMovie HD.
When you open the Mp4 files in Quicktime, the footage seemed to have fuzzy edges around moving objects, but when you bring those files into iMovie HD, that goes away.
I hope that helps someone out of the dark place I found myself in as a beginner.
