Are you sure that you've selected the compression settings for video and selected the Panasonic DV Codec from the list?

again,

hi again,
Still not working, I am selecting the compression settings for video and selecting the Panasonic DV Codec from the list but when I try to pull the finished avi into AE& or PP, it tells me that ' Error this compression rate doesn't exist'

so what does that mean, it's obviously not recognizing what ever compression rate Panasonic DV Codec compresses the avi to

help Thanks

I haven't been following this post but what file format are you looking to convert your VOB's to, I take it isn't AVI?

Hi Nikosony
yeah it is to convert them to AVI's. I'm using virtual dub, also Panasonic DV Codec for the filter, and it does change the files to AVI's BUT premier pro & AE7 won't let me import them AVI's into the programs to edit. The message it displays is

'Error this compression rate doesn't exist'

So whats the point in using Virtualdub etc, if i can't edit the files once converted?
