I am editing a video and there it alot of glare. It was shot on the ocean on a real sunny day. My camera settings we not on auto and I didnt relize it till it was too late.
I have played with the effects in Adobe Premiere but nothing seems to help it. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Try "shadow and Highlight" filter. You will have to go in to the settings and untick auto, set the shadow slider to zero and adjust the highlight slider, but the chances are you may not get much joy as overexposed video is generally useless.

The only time I have ever successfully removed a glare is on a still image in Photoshop. It took carefull masking while using the dodge and burn tools in individual colour channels. Took a couple of hours of playing to get it right and that's a single still.

The 'effects' used might possibly be translated to After Effects but I wouldn't fancy it at all.

You might be able to do some selectiuve colour corrections with soem masking to improve things a little but do not expect miracles.

I think this will have to go down as "a lessoned learned". sorry.
