Default Compressing Video

I saw a video which was compressed to about 1 MB and it was about 5 min long. The quality was good. I have adobe premiere pro 2 and after effects 7. How can I compress a 5 min video to about 1 MB with the quality staying good? Thanks for your help.

Where did you see this movie, was it on the internet? A movie at only 1MB in file size would look terrible on a DVD played back on tv. Are you 100% sure it was 1MB in size and not 1GB (gigabyte)?

Yea I saw it on internet. I'm not intending to put it on a dvd. I know it would look bad. I just wanna make it's file size smaller so I can send it over the internet to my cousin. He has dial-up so I need a small file size. It is not a movie like 1 hour, it's a video like just 1 min.

Glad we cleared that up. Have you got Windows Movie Maker? Try and open your movie in MM and export it in one of the file formats for the Internet, they'll appear in a drop down list and as far as I can remember, you can choose from 28KB modem, 56KB modem, ISDN etc... so just choose the correct device your has and follow the instructions.

Thank You for answering. If I put it on 56K, will the quality get really bad or good enough? Anyway, the best way to find out is trying it out. Thanks again.
