Hi all,
I want to ask you guys for some tips for a newbie. I'm compiling and editing my travelling trip (17 hours long!) and want to have a cut sequence between each city/country with a map that shows a plane/bus moving from point A to point B (with appropriate sound effect). How can I achieve this - using Premiere or Flash or some other software?
Whilst i'm on, does anyone know of a good place (preferrably free!) where I can get good quality maps/outlines for my background on each cut sequence?
Thanks in advance,
Rick

did you solve this problem about the maps - what did you end up doing. I am doing the same thing, am using flash for the animation but having difficulty finding good maps. Did you get some in the end?????
cheers

presumably this is what I refer to as the 'indiana jones' effeect? The red line across the map with cuts of the plane flying along to represent the journey/route being taken?
If so then can't you do it by having a still image map on layer 1 which is bigger than the frame size and then pan across it as required from start of route to end of routes.
Also have static image 'red line' on layer 2 which pans in the the same way and then just 'reveal' it across the timeline.
I think this would work but keeping a clean edge to the revealed red line might take some work.

This thread might be usefull to you: Road Trail
When I tried this effect in the past I used multimap.com, Not sure where you are located, or what the coverage is like outside the UK, but I found it ideal.
