Default Film Reel Burn Transition

Hey, I have a very tough question to answer

I have seen a transition in some action sports movies in which it seems like a 16 mm film reel is burning away
the link below has numerous examples of it, (you might need to watch through a couple minutes of it to get the gist of it)

I am actually using FCP 5, but I can also use any of the Adobe products if someone can tell me how to recreate this, or direct me to a link that has a tutorial.

ive already searched google, as well as this site and have come up empty handed

thanks in advance
nathan
