Default not supported

Hi Folks
I have some video footage sent to me on harddrive.
I have windows XP, matrox rt2000, premier 6.5 and pro but they say they dont support that format or compression.
I can however open them up in adobe encore.
I used avicodec and it said the codec was cdvc???
So Q is what is this codec and can i use(or even download it)it to edit these clips in premier.
Many Thanks

I think it's the canopus DV codec. Heres the freeware codec for playback: http://www.canopus.com/US/Products/D...pm_dvcodec.asp
