Default After Effects Help?

Hey

I've followed this tutorial:

Yet instead of the snow settling on top of the writing, it settles in a cross shape in the middle of the video, as shown in this screenshot:



I've set up the Persistent Property Manager as described on page 3 of the tutorial correctly, yet it must be something that im missing...It seems that even when i select the text layer as the "Use Layer As Map", it still builds the snow up on the duplicated snow layer.

Hopefully someone can work through it and tell me what i'm doing wrong!

Big X's across the screen are common in trial s/w. Is this the trial version you are playing with. I wasn't aware that Adobe did this sort of thing with trials but you never know.

Nope..it's college's version. The actual X is made up of snow particles, so I don't think it's..what you think it is haha.

Thanks though man.

Any other suggestions?
