Default Problem.. need help.. Dropped frame w/ Sony TRV and Premiere

Hello,

Just installed a new Pentium D (Processor 820) and using Premiere Pro. Rendering is quite fast and really impressive. Now the problem is... I get a lot of dropped frames during video capture. I'm using a Sony TRV33.

I didnt see this problem w/ my Pentium 4... still using Premiere Pro.

Any thoughts?

Nik

How much memory has your computer got and have you defragmented your hard disk recently? Have you changed any of the settings in your caputre software?

I've just done some capturing over the weekend and I noticed using Premier that if the tape has any 'glitches' on it, then it can be enough to throw Premier off. It will stop capturing immediately and get you to save the file so far. It will also put up a screen saying that frames were dropped during capture. So even if you have a really powerful computer, a glitch or two on the tape in the camera can bring proceedings to a halt.
