0 Videos nominated Video Of the Month(s): 0 | | Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 No Sound in Sequence Playback
I have a Sony DVD Hanycam and having problems with the files once I go into Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5
I have been through the Perfect Picture and converted the VRO files into Mpeg. Once I import the files into the program and place them onto the Timeline it shows Video and Audio and when I play them from the timeline onto the sequence monitor the picture jumps from widescreen to a squashed 4.3 and there is no sound Why?
Help Please!

You'll need to force Premiere to use the correct aspect ratio. To do this, right click on the media in the project window, then select "Intepret Footage". Now select the correct aspect ratio.
The sound could be one of two things: either the audio compression isn't supported by Premiere, or you are routing the sound to a DV camcorder (which obviously won#t be heard if you don't have one plugged in).
For the latter, go Project > Project Settings > General > Playback settings, then untick Play Video on DV Hardware.

If it is the latter here are the screen shots of how to do it.
project settings>general
This menu appears>press play back settings
This selection come up>Go to "audio playback"
Select "audio hardware"
P.S Marc if you would like to use this in FAQ you're welcome

0 Videos nominated Video Of the Month(s): 0 | | no sound on playback happens to me if I don't remove capture
HI: This may be similar to what happens to me with Premeire 7.0 if I don't remove the capture device cable, or shut it off before I start to playback. The software wants to playback in the camera or my JVC Deck, not in the edit windows. Preferences have no control over this problem...just past experiences of mine...I still occasionally forget, but it has stumped me so often that I know automatically now what to do. hope this info is what you need to know. :
