Default Premiere 6 , everthing has gone black?

while working on a project on P6, everything was fine. Then after rendering, my timeline ,clips in bin etc turned black! The audio could still be heard playing off the timeline but all video was just black. This applied to all clips captured in bins and all clips asociated with my project on the hard drive. Has this happened to anyone else? Help

Have you removed a codec from your system? If you're on Win XP, try doing a system restore to an earlier point.

As far as i'm aware, i have not removed any codec's, tryed system restore but last restore was before i started project! Opps! Anyway started again and all was going well, capturing clips etc. Then some of my avi's weren't what they were supposed to be, like another clip had taken over, still had same title but content was something else. Also noticed that i was getting alot of temp file in with my avi's. If i deleted or moved them, the avi's were blank but sound was ok. Any idea's???

I've a feeling the temp files will be the files that have been rendered. If you delete these files, you'll get a blank screen if the video has to be rendered before playback.

What codec are you using to encode the captured video? I'm assuming your using analogue capture and maybe divx?

The codec is canopus DV, am using analogue and dv. I have a canopus storm capture card and bay. Is there a way to recover the avi's once they have gone black?
