| | Particle Playground Help I am trying to make snow in After Effects 6.5
All I want is white dots falling from above, and i did that part. It is white particles on the black background that it gave to me. Now I import it into premiere and add a chromakey to it and get rid of the black background, but it still leaves a black outline around the particles which looks a little too slopy.
Can i work with white on a green background, because that is what i do with text in after effects then i just add a green screen key to it and it looks perfect with crisp edges.
I am not sure how to go about this, for text i just create a green solid then put a text later on it. But when i create a green solid and add particle playground it changes the background to black with the particles on it
Anyone have any ideas it would really help.
Thanks

| | You already mentioned After Effects 6.5. Why are you not doing your actual compositing in there? It's what the s/w is designed for and does a far better job than Premiere Pro
You might be able to get an ok result in Premiere Pro by using different effects but you're better off in AE.
In AE, put your background as bottom layer and then your snow above it. Set the blend mode for the snow layer to 'screen' and I suspect you will have exactly what you want.
In Premier pro, rather than use the luma key, try the other key effects. From memory there is a 'screen' key effect in Premiere so try that.
