Default Question re the diffferences between US + UK Adobe software

I may soon be building/getting a pc purely for editing and was also looking at upgrading to prem pro and after effects.

I was looking at the adobe site and saw the adobe video collection suite which has both of the above plus audition, encore and photoshop cs2

on the US site it sells for $1499 and on the UK site it sells for 1568 GBP a little under double the price.

My question would be if I bought the US version would premier pro and after effects be restricted to NTSC or would it work with PAL footage as well.

Its just plain crazy that we get ripped off like this!

I doubt very much that Adobe will ship to a non-US address. You may of course prove me wrong, but you will indeed get stung for import duty and VAT if they do.

I have a cousin in washington so I can get it shipped to her and then she can post it to me, that normally avoids the customs mafia and import tax.

Wouldn't be the first time

sounds good to me, i beleive if it's a gift you can avoid import tax. Say your cousin enclosed a birthday card then if customs do open it maybe they just might let you off.?
