Default Help USB2 is worse than Firewire

I have just batled for ages to get my USB2 pcmcia card to work because firewire is SOOOOOOOO unreliable for my external hard drive!

The problem is this, when I run premiere 6.5 and put a clip into the source window it takes ages to play... then plays the first few secs or so and goes jerky... much like USB1
All the rest... including loading the program works at full speed!
what's going on?

Adobe do not support the use of external drives with their s/w. Try it on a local drive and see if you still getthe same problem.
