Default From FCP to PremPro?

Hey folks:

A friend of mine has a project that was shot on dvcpro that has subsequently been edited by another friend on FCP. The editor has decided that he doesn't want to work on it anymore (it's about 90% complete) and so my friend has asked me to work on it. I use PP1.5.1. The editor has said it is too much effort for him to convert the edited & raw footage to QT so I can import it. Is there another way I can do this? Buying codecs and cards is an option.

I've never had to do this but in practice and theory it should work.
Get the FCP editor to export an EDL of the project.

Import that EDL into your PPro project and reassign all the media.

Where it will go wrong are on any effects he has used as they are more than likely gonna be lost. But the basic cuts should remain.

Again whethet or not it will work I am not sure but its worth a try.
