Default Putting captured video from Studio into Premier 6

Hi,

I`m a bit new to Premier...but have been using Studio 8 (Pinnacle) for a year now! All my captured video files r from Studio...the other night I tried to use Premier and import a captured file from studio...and got an error basically saying that format isn`t compatible...is this true? I can`t believe that I can`t take this avi file into Premier...

Can anyone help please?

I`m using Studio 8...DC10plus hardware....Analogue Camcorder...
PC Spec:
AMD Athlon 1200, 1 x 20Gb + 1 x 80GB HDD, GeForce2 AGP card, 256Mb SDRAM...I`m at end of tether...I`m about to remove Premier from my HDD if it doesn`t work!

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks

dude hello mate.

just a thought. I have pinnacle and am deciding on the use of adobe. Which I bought the other day. I too would like to use my avi files in adobe.

But why not just use adobe with a new project, starting from scratch, see how you go.

if you dont like then you can take it off your machine, delete the new project and pinnacle will be all intacked.

p.s I have been trying to drag avi files into pinnacle, so I could edit, but not even that is possible.
