Just started using prem pro, when I playback the footage I'm not getting anysound, but when I drag along the time line the sound is there?!?!?!?!?

Possibly the audio had not finished conforming?

there is a progress bar in the bottom right hand side - make sure that your audio is fully conformed before attempting to edit

If this isn't the problem please post again

Your sound is most probably being routed back to your DV hardware. Go into the project settings and select playback on audio hardware.
