Default what processor?????

now then,

just found out from adobe site my processor needs updateing to run premier pro on my system (windows xp home, AMD athlon 1.34ghz processor, 40gb 7200rpm HD)
can anyone point me in the right direction as to what I need? Also will have to update my motherboard as well need advice on this also.

TBH, although I'm all for using AMD processors, if you're only using a single core processor, then the Pentium 4 CPUs are usually better at video encoding than their equivalent Athlon 64s. If you're using dual cores though, the AMDs are better.

As for what you need, well the answer is as much as you can afford really. What's your budget?
