Default Sound distorting

Hi,

I'm new to this fourm. I have a question about editing in Premiere Standard. I have recently made a short and it is 95% complete just one slight problem. The sound is to loud in a few places and thus distorts at certain times. It only happens about four or five times in the nine minute piece but is something I need to rectify. I have to confess to being a bit of an amateur when it comes to editing. I have done a course in premiere but is quite a while ago. So if someone could tell me how to alter the sound levels or turn it down in certain places that would be great.

You don't have as much control using the mixer.
