Is it like everything is frozen for a second and abruptly speeds up the action for a split second and then continues on with the normal film speed?

I'm wondering if what this person is trying to describe is simply the fact that avery fast shutter spped was used. i.e. 25fps using 1/1000ths shutter speed will have little to no motion blur and so when played back might actually seem a little jerky and less smooth action. Or maybe worse, filmed at 12fps? A sort of strobe effect?

Alan I think you got it. I changed the shutter speed on my camera, and since I can't change the fps I used the "posterize time" effect which gave me a very close example of the effect I was looking for.
So thank you everyone.

So what sort of cheap flimsy camera you driving then? I thought all cameras costing more than about £100K had adjustable fps.

Heh, it's almost like we tripped and wobbled our way to that solution....
