| | how do you make the smallville superspeed effect?
well i was watching the tv show smallville and i was wondering how they do the super speed effect? e.g when he goings in to super speed and hes the only one moving and ever one eles is in slow motion?
p.s i think that is an awsome effect so if any one can help

I'm assuming you don't have a couple of thousand dollars to hand... so you'll have to think of doing it the poor mans way by, for example, shooting the scene twice.

Film it twice. Once for your super speed content and one for everything else.
Place both on the timeline. Speed one up and slow the other one down whilst compositing them together.

you know what i was wondering what this effect is to but i want to know how they do the waves that surround him when he does do super speed. im guessing they use cg right?
