| | The ultimate 6.5 export problem! Hi guys, okay this is one that will make you work! searched all forums everywhere. Im stumped...Here goes.
When exporting to dv (cannon mv200i) via firewire everything runs smoothly (temporarily) and at no definite position in the film and at no definite time, the footage will jump into fastforward or what appears as a fast play mode. It could happen 5 minutes into the film, or 1 minute from the end. It is totally random but obviously went it starts the film is ruined. My system has a mind of its own. Help!
Im running XP on an athlon 2200 at 1.67GHz. Space = 111GB. Graphics Card is the ALL-IN-WONDER 8500DV and RAM = 512mb.
The problem is not with the camera and it is not with the firewire. I know this because if i sit infront of the timeline and hit play and watch my film, the problem inevitably will occur. Therefore the issue is not with the export BUT it is an export issue as i need to export the film! My guess is it is a problem with my system. However trying to explain this one in a forum outside premiere users goes straight over their heads!
Thanks.[/b] |

| | Try using a different firewire port on your system - this has been known to fix all kinds of problems! |

| | No, never heard of this. Sorry, I was once again a victim of my over-eagerness and didn't read your original post properly - this is a problem with playback in general, yes? I've had screwy things like this happen to AP when installing a new codec. I suggest you uninstall any codec you can find in the uninstall menu. I would gladly bet this is a codec issue. |

| | where can i find the uninstall menu you refer to?
and how do i know which codec to uninstall?
and will the uninstalling have a knock on effect and effect other parts of the programme from not working efficiently?
thanks. |

| Start by uninstalling any you can see (you can add them back selectively afterwards). Have you installed any "codec pack"? Quote: |

| You might not be able to view videos that need the codec |

| | okay, im in add/remove programs. I can't see anything with codec in its title. All adobe related programs include; adove acrobat 5.0, adobe download manager (remove only), adobe mpeg encoder and adobe premiere 6.5
The only programs in this menu that i'm not familiar with are the windows XP hotfix's, there are about 30 of them all labelled with different numbers.
I'm guessing done of this is useful to solving the problemo!?!? |
